Re: Top Five Favorite Bands EVER

Tough to narrow it down to just 5, but as of right now, I'd have to say my faves are:

The Who
Pixies
Mission of Burma
Belle and Sebastian
Joy Division

LRB was awesome at the time. Crowded House is one of my all-time faves. "Woodface" was gorgeous- "Fall At Your Feet" and the song that had the line, "We owed it all to Frank Sinatra...the song was playng as she came into the room..." And She Goes On, or something like that. Good stuff.
Before we Aussies get pummelled by our friends across the Tasman just need to point out that technically Crowded House is a New Zealand band as both the Finns are Kiwis.

That's awesome, you know Icehouse. Not many people do!

When I was in Autralia last year I got the chance to pick up a number of Icehouse albums that aren't in print in the U.S. anymore. It was like finding that long-lost CD or rare book.

Also, have you heard the new Finn Bros. album? It's ace.

The Frank Sinatra line was from "She Goes On" I think. Also liked Whispers and Moans. the song with the line " And I will catch the taxi driver weaping like a wounded beast." Great album, indeed. I also loved "Weather With You".

I used to play "Fall At Your Feet" at the acoustic open mics at the Thirsty Ear in Grandview--back when Donna M. was still hosting and it was actually good.
