Rob Stratton Re-signs

The Reds signed Rob Stratton for this season with a minor league contract.

The Cincinnati Enquirer reports the Cincinnati Reds signed 1B/OF Robert Stratton to a minor-league contract for 2006. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Honestly wouldn't mind seeing him on the bench for Cincy this year if he has recovered and has a decent spring last years. It is starting to get crowded though

Re: Rob Stratton Re-signs

Is Stratton a left-handed hitter, or a right-handed one?

Re: Rob Stratton Re-signs

6-4, 250. He had a good start to the season in the 8 games he played with 8 hits, 4 HR's, 2 BB's. 308/379/769

He also had a very solid spring. I don't believe he is invited to major-league camp though, so I doubt he will make the team. Maybe a call up though.

Re: Rob Stratton Re-signs

While looking stuff up on Stratton I ran into an old box score:
Quote:
HOME RUNS: BIN - ROB STRATTON (11) OFF CLAUSSEN IN THE 1ST
SCOTT HUNTER (13) OFF CLAUSSEN IN THE 3RD
EARL SNYDER (9) OFF CLAUSSEN IN THE 5TH
ROB STRATTON (12) OFF MARTE IN THE 7TH
ROB STRATTON (13) OFF PACHECO IN THE 9TH
Rough day for Claussen and RS had a career day

Re: Rob Stratton Re-signs

IIRC, Snyder is also a player we just signed to a Minor league deal.
