Redsfest is coming back.
Allen reports directly to Castellini I have no clue (and neither does Allen) what he does.

Mostly budgeting, finance, stuff like that. Allen is still the COO, which means all non-baseball departments would report to him.

Contracts, leases, finance, financials, reporting to the owners, budgets that control all operations including the baseball side, tax considerations, governmental filings etc.

I certainly hope he has no hand in marketing or going after television contracts etc..., and can't imagine Castellini trusting him with any of that after the last 10 years. Hate to say it, know some disagree, but I think Allen is one of the, if not the, worst things to ever happen to the Reds org. When you think of creative, intelligent, visionary businessmen - John Allen is the last person that should come to mind. I pretty much hated everything he did - even though DanO was Lindner's favorite monkey supposably. One thing about the DanO hiring was that - certainly DanO was one of Allen's candidates after bringing him to the table with Lindner in the 1st place, and probably had him in his top 3. Allen had a lot to do with that as well - his hand was in everything. He should really be let go altogether and the people he hired - he'll have no problem finding work along with DanO and friends. He's been here a long time. Clean sweep please. |

TC, if you go to the Reds FO roster, you'll see a list of departments under "Business Operations" and "Ballpark Operations," as well as the Reds Community Fund and the Reds HOF and Museum. Those must be Allen's new domain... and it's really quite a list.

Everything that John Allen should never have been a part of in the first place. That's the non-baseball side.

P.R. = YES (but don't tell Butch. He's ruler of his own kingdom) Concessions = Yes but not completely as they are outsourced. Media = Directly no as the "Media" is under P.R.
