I'm praying that Castellini becomes my ultimate hero and hires Krivsky.

Re: O'Brien fired! Kullman interm GM, announcement at 5pm

Here is an interesting comment by Kullman today.

Kullman will have the freedom to work on trades, which would be approved by Castellini. For example, Kullman said teams have shown an interest in outfielder Austin Kearns, but haven't offered what the Reds want in return.

"So I wouldn't be surprised if in the next week, we try to do something," Kullman said. "Whether it's possible or not, I don't know."

Rejoice Reds fans there is hope where hope has not existed for far to long

Dang forgot to add, Dunn signs a longterm deal by end of the Week! Would that not be a absolutely first week on the job by Castellini ?

This is Mrs 4256 Hits, my husband wanted me to give his whole support for this move but he is stuck in a hospital bed after throwing his back out this afternoon doing a cartwheel.

I feel very, very badly for O'Brien. Hate to see anyone lose his job. I mean, did the boy DanO dream of someday being a GM of a major league baseball team? And think of dinner at the DanO RanchO tonight. Everyone sitting around quietly picking at their plates ... not quite sure what to say ...

But there's a little piece of me going inside anyway, and I'm actually looking forward to the season again.

Best of luck, DanO, in your future endeavors. And a big thanks to Mr. C.

He was the GM of a major league baseball team. He failed, but he was right in the fire and ALL of us are envious of his position at one time. That said I am thrilled with today like all of us.

shaudenfreude: delight in the misfortune of others

Since I'm a cynic, I'm worried about the other shoe dropping. But it sure has been a long time since we've been in the right direction.

Give Big Donkey rep points for breaking this story (not the first time). I can't give him anymore.
