Antonetti

im really starting to like him. indians fans claim hes the guy who pushed for cliff lee and to stick with him during his struggles. him and a few other guys really stick out at me. krivsky is probably 3 or 4 on my list, though his experience may win him the job.

all i kno is i will puke if beattie gets the job

Re: Antonetti

At this point, I'm rooting for Antonetti, perhaps with some one Beattie like as a senior advisor who can serve as sounding board/media buffer. Just seems like a young guy in his first GM job would need an experienced hand to help him at certain times. Since apparently Beattie hired Antonetti to his first job in baseball, they'd be a natural fit. Antonetti would bring new blood, new knowledge and a lot of energy to the FO. He's got the stats thing down, he's got assistant GM experience in an organization that has rebuilt successfully (and quickly) and word is that he's got the necessary interpersonal skills, too (a la Epstein). You don't find a ton of guys like that.

Tough time of year. Indians may have refused permission.

Re: Antonetti

if they did, they are just asking for trouble. if you want to continue to get the best up and coming canidates for jobs, you have to show that you will encourage them and be happy for them when they get the chance to move up. if your organization is seen as one who wont let you, its gonna be tough to attract em, IMO

I agree but being so close to the year don't a l ot or all MLB clubs set a game plan for a season and run situations to see what they may or may not do? If that is the case I can understand why the Indians would not let hm go just now.

Maybe it's because he's happy in Cleveland?

Assuming that it's possible to be happy in Cleveland.
