John Fay's spring training diary

Greetings from the Hal McCoy Dining Room/Press Room in Sarasota. When asked about the name, Hal always says, "As long as it isn't the Hal McCoy Memorial Dining Room/Press Room."

This is where we scribes idle away a lot of time during spring training. The view is of the parking lot. It's a good vantage point for checking out the players' new rides. You see a few palm trees and blue skies -- good motivation for trying to get the day's work done...
