Pffft! I don't know why anyone would vote for Cy Young. How many Cy Young awards did he win, huh?

True, but he always came to play, gave 110%, and "knew how to win."

No - I missed him. I look at ERA over league average and I missed Roberts.

Re: RedsZone Hall of Fame - Starting Pitchers, Q-Z

I voted for:

Radbourn, Rixey, Roberts, Reulbach, Ruffing, Rusie, Ryan, Seaver, Spalding, Spahn, Sutton, Vance, Waddell, Walsh, Wynn, and Young.

I thought that Young, Seaver, Spahn, Ryan, Roberts, and Spalding were the automatic choices.

Re: RedsZone Hall of Fame - Starting Pitchers, Q-Z

Vance didn't win his first game until he was 31 and wound up with 197 wins. The guy absolutely dominated the NL in the 1920s. He's sort of the reverse Waddell, who was just about done by age 31.

Hard to ask sympathy for a Yankee, but Ruffing was the ace on probably the best teams of all time, the 1936-39 Bombers. For me that tips the scales for him.

If Radbourn had only pitched his 1884 season (59-12, 1.38, 678.2 IP, 441 Ks), I'd have still voted for him.

Re: RedsZone Hall of Fame - Starting Pitchers, Q-Z

Vance was a nasty pitcher for a couple seasons ... absolutely dominant.

My ballot:

Radbourn
Rixey
Roberts
Rusie
Ryan
Seaver
Spahn
Sutton
Tiant
Vance
Waddell
Walsh
Walters
Wynn
Young

Eppa Rixey and Bucky Walters are admittingly homer calls for me.
