Last week's brazen, um, "theft" of a dozen 12-foot tall Cardinals cutouts from six area highway billboards over the weekend shocked people. It's those Cubs fans, some figured. They're behind this. Nobody panic. The Cardinals are safe. What started out as the great Cardinals caper of 2006 turned out to be a scripted campaign put on by Schupp Co., a local advertising agency. Local TV and radio stations ate it up. The Post-Dispatch's Web site, STLToday.com, ran a photo and short story on its home page Monday. |
