Re: RedsZone Hall of Fame - Relief Pitchers

I voted for:

Eckersley, Fingers, Gossage, Quisenberry, Smith, Sutter, and Wilhelm.

I thought the only automatic choice was Wilhelm. I was somewhat surprised that Mike Marshall was not a candidate.

To be honest, I didn't look very much at the numbers for the candidates, in part because the numbers for more modern players are greatly inflated compared to the numbers of past players. I tend to be of the opinion that a relief pitcher must be "special" (that is, a difference-maker or innovator) to even be considered for Hall-Of-Fame status. (It's similar to how I feel about kickers and the Football HOF.)
