This is perhaps more negative thinking than we need around here, but it's still kind of fun. CBS Sportsline is doing a bizarro league-- a fantasy league that rewards teams that have the worst overall performance. Appearances/AB's earn points, disastrous consequences earn points, success subtracts points. Sort of the anti-pujols and anti-clemens-type players.

Reds in draft (my commentary in parentheses)

Round 4
#32 - Eric Milton (surprise!)
Round 5
#41 - Scott Hatteberg (relies on the Reds making a trade to give him playing time)
#43 - Paul Wilson (counting on him coming back from injury just well enough to suck in frequent playing time)
Round 9
#85 - Tony Womack (I'm surprised he lasted this long...they must have more confidence that he'll get little playing time than I do)
Round 14
#137 - David Weathers (counting in blown saves here)
#143 - Ricky Stone (is he even on the roster anymore?)

I'm a little surprised no one took Dave Williams. But hopefully he will be average this year.

If you're curious, here are the top 10 picks:
1. Corey Patterson (OF BAL)
2. Joe Mays (SP KC)
3. Darin Erstad (1B LAA)
4. Aaron Cook (SP COL)
5. Christian Guzman (SS WAS)
6. Reed Johnson (OF TOR)
7. Mark Hendrickson (SP TB)
8. Jason Kendall (C OAK)
9. Mark Redman (SP KC)
10. Jack Wilson (SS PIT)

I think Guzman would have been my #1 pick... Though Milton couldn't be far behind.

I would think that Jose Mesa, now in Colorado, would be a first rounder.

Believe it or not, Mesa made it 'til the 9th round, 90th overall pick.

The Sporting News named Colorado a possible surprise team because of the addition of Mesa and King.

Lima was #125 in the 13th round. I imagine playing time was what prevented im from being taken higher...? -JinAZ
