List of potential acquisitions

feel free to add your own. Just a few thoughts. Certainly McCracken, Womack and White have no business being on the roster. In addition a power arm would be nice, especially one that could fill the long relief/spot starter role that is currently empty.

I just wanted to throw out a few names

Phillips, Davis(really like him) of Cleveland
Shealy of Colorado
Wilson of Pittsburgh(if the Rats are serious)
Pena is now a free agent(went through waivers)

I'd like to see us bring in Davis and maybe Phillips. No way do we bring in a 1B, Narron and Krivsky seem fine with Hatteberg.

I like the first 2 and possibly signing Pena as well. I don't know what Cleveland lacks but what do you think about Williams/Mercker/PTBN for Davis & Phillips (although he could be released). Then deal Weathers/Valentin to Colorado for Shealy & low prospect.

As much as that seems to be.. I think there is players out there without jobs who are a definate upgrade over Hatteberg.. ie: Pena & Durazo

Here's an idea:

Williams/Mercker/Belisle or Ramirez for Davis/Broussard/Phillips?

I think the bloom has prettty much fallen off Phillips rose.

I like the other ideas, although I'd rather not trade with the Pirates.

without a doubt, which means he won't bring much. At least there is upside and he couldn't be worse than Womack.

Re: List of potential acquisitions

CFs Tike Redman and Luis Terrero are now available, so if we feel the need to add more OFs, there's two more.

I do realize that Redman has a Womackian OBP, so that's tongue-in-cheek but wasn't Terrero fairly well thought of not too long ago?

Ricardo Rodriguez is available from the Phillies so they have nothing of their trade of Padilla with Texas now. He didn't have -terrible- spring training numbers, I think he just caught up in the familiar no-options-roster-crunch.

And this thread wouldn't be complete without another second base acquisition - Deivi Cruz is out there.

Just more names, though I am not advocating going after Cruz and/or Redman specifically.
