The ugly is what I've been saying all spring, the defense and the bullpen

they are old, poor in the field and with the bat and serve no purpose on this team.

Unfortunately, there are 161 more of these little athletic contests left this season. Otherwise, Matt Murton would be all star.

In the good column, I'll take seven runs a game all year long.

I almost feel bad for Adam Dunn. Almost. His HR was a heck of a shot. A line drive no less. He even had a sac fly in his first AB. Talk about a whacky day.

How about Denorfia stepping up early??

I for one am not surprised. he should be in CF everyday. In addition, that was a Willy high fastball he picked on.

I realize this was sarcasm but he may very well end up an All-Star. Dude can hit apparently. Had a nice little run at the end of last season and if Dusty will just leave him alone and let him play everyday he could put up some real nice numbers this season.

Re: The Good, the Bad, and the ugly

Let's not forget how Narron contributed to this bloodbath. How?

All those days off he gave Dunn, Griffey and certain other vets in spring training, inserting scrubs in the lineup. Instead of working on their tans in Florida, they should have been doing daily defensive drills and playing in more games so they weren't so rusty come Opening Day.

As the weather improves, so should Dunn and Griffey's defense. But still, Narron let them goof off all spring, and now, we're seeing the sloppy results. Both players get paid enough to pay more attention.

Their offense is undeniable, but on the defensive side of the ledger, both are really liabilities. They share the responsibility with Narron for falling even further behind the curve. They slacked off this spring, while our manager didn't see fit to call them on it.

Yeah Junior was "screwing off" in the WBC.

Re: The Good, the Bad, and the ugly

The Reds were the worst defensive OF in baseball last year and will be again this year unless the appropriate changes are made.
