Re: Are you a Yankee or a Rebel...fun survey

45% dixie...barely in yankeedom...

not sure why i didn't score lower...grocery "bag" and rhymes with "rout" were my only two "southern" responses...when i used to drink regular coke, i would always ask for a coke, no matter what the carbonated beverage was, but now that i drink diet coke, i always say "pop"...this kept me on the yankee side, thank goodness:

out of curiosity, how many of you say "youse"? this is a term i grew up with and never even realized how bad it really sounded until a friend of mine brought it up to me and my family...

I grew up with "you" (sng) and "you" (pl). I hear "y'unz" on occassion, due to my proximity to Western PA.

I do miss Chicago-isms like "jagoff" and "you want to come with?" Oh and I knew a guy born and raised in Darien who used to pronounce Taco Bell as "TACK-oh Bill".

78% Dixie. Your neck must be a little pink!

My grandfather who is 98 and healthy as a horse wears a string tie. It was the DNA that made me this way, as Freddie Mercury used to sing.

46% Dixie. Barely in Yankeedom.

I wanted to use drive-thru but it wasn't there.

I do say car-a-mel and my kids make fun of me. Sometimes care-a-mel.

I'm surprised they didn't have "you guys" for addressing a group of people.

I've lived in the south just about my entire life, and I've always said car-a-mel. Most people I know say it that way. When I heard folks say car-mel after I moved to TN, took a while to figure out what they were saying.

53% Dixie, which surprises me since, at this point, less than one quarter of my life has been down there.

South Carolina is the only state in the south I haven't visited, though I haven't seen much of North Carolina. Pretty much covered the rest.
