While true, if you had been moving Dunn from 1B to LF, it wouldn't have worked either. He is a just a bad fielder no matter where you put him, but you can hide him better at 1B.

Hattteberg is a BAD defensive 1st baseman as it is.

Re: Start Ryan Freel every day.

The biggest fan of a move of Dunn back to 1st base, IMO, would be EE. Their wing spans aren't even comparable. A couple throws that EE "sailed" a bit would have been handled easily by Dunn, IMO.

Re: Start Ryan Freel every day.

Not to mention FeLo can still be a bit... hmmm, shall we say "adventurous" at times with his throws.

Womack will eventually play his way out of 2nd base no matter what happens.
Exactly. So far Aurilia has been in the field for 54 innings. Two, count 'em, two have been at second base and none at shortstop. It's about time to take him out of the discussion of middle-infield playing time. Freel will get his starts, if not as full-time as we'd like... my sense is, if Krivsky likes what he sees with Phillips, he'll feel free to send Womack on down the road.
