4/23 Minor League updates

Dayton is playing at home against Kane County.
Carlos Fisher is on the hill for the Dragons. Kane County goes 1-2-3 in the top of the first.

Sarasota faces one of the best pitching propects in baseball today in the Tampa Yankees Philip Hughes. The Reds have Sam Lecure on the hill. Adam Rosales is not in the line up again, but I havent been able to find anything or get word as to if he is hurt, and or what it is.

Chattanooga plays at 2:15 against West Tennessee.

Louisville is currently playing and is down 4-0, 3 runs given up in the first by Mike Gosling in the first inning.

Re: 4/23 Minor League updates

Dayton
Wild pitch advances Eric Eymann to third. Hernandez stays at first. BJ Szymanski does what he has done all year and strikes out on a bad pitch up and out of the zone. Bobby Mosby up with two on and two outs and strikes out looking on a fastball. Dragons up 1-0 after 1.

Sarasota
Sam Lecure sits them down 1-2-3 in the first, with 2 strikeouts. Tied at 0-0 after 1.

Chattanooga
still isnt underway.

Louisville
Down 6-0 in the 4th inning. The Bats have 3 hits so far.

Re: 4/23 Minor League updates

Dayton
Carlos Fisher back out for the second inning. Strikes out Steve Queen to lead off the second. Second batter comes up and hits one to third that goes under the glove of the third baseman Mike Griffin. Fisher strikes out the 3rd htiter of the inning on a curve. Padrone gets a single. Line drive to Jay Bruce to end the inning. 1-0 Dragons after 1 1/2.

Sarasota
Phillip Hughes sits the Reds down 1-2-3 again in the 2nd, with 2 more strikeouts for a total of 3 through his 2 innings pitched.
Sam Lecure likewise gets the 1-2-3 inning in the second and gets a strikeout to make 3 on the game.

Louisville
The Bats are struggling. 6-0 in the 4th. Stratton on second after a double.

Re: 4/23 Minor League updates

Dayton
Cabrera leads off the inning with a strikeout. Chris Denove hits a bullet of a grounder to the SS who made a nice play to get Denove. Dejesus goes 3-2 before taking a walk. A balk moves DeJesus to second base.

Sarasota
Phillip Hughes is human after all. In the 3rd the Reds get 3 hits off of him and 2 runs. Drew Anderson hit a double to drive in Brandon Roberts and Kroski who both had singles earlier in the inning. Brandon Roberts stole his 5th base of the season after his single.

Louisville
Stratton was stranded in the bottom of the 4th, still 6-0 after 4. Through 4 1/2, Louisville down 6-0.

Re: 4/23 Minor League updates

Dayton
Mike Griffin strikes out on the curve and strands DeJesus at 2nd. 1-0 Dragons after 2.
First Cougars hitter pops up to shallow CF to second baseman DeJesus. Base hit by Sellers. BJ Szymanski drops a line drive and now there are runners at first and second. Official scorer calls it a hit, announcers are baffled as to how it was scored as a hit. Check swing grounder to the pitcher. runners advance to second and third. Steve Queen pops up to second to end the inning. Dragons up 1-0 after 2 1/2.

Sarasota
Sam Lecure gives up 3 runs on 3 hits and a walk in the 3rd inning. Phillip Hughes gets 3 outs without allowing a run in the top of the 4th, Reds down 3-2.

Chattanooga
For whatever reason, The Lookouts official site and milb.com is not showing updates of the game, so updates when they become available.

Louisville
Bats go quietly in the 5th. 6-0 going into the 6th inning. Ben Kozlowski comes out for the 6th to take over for Mike Gosling who got roughed up for 6 runs, 5 earned on 8 hits in 5 innings. Kozlowski gives up a single, gets the next two batters out, then gives up an RBI triple, which puts the Bats in a 7-0 hole.

Louisville
Kozlowski allows a single, a double and a triple to lead to 2 runs, and an 8-0 deficit for the Bats.

Re: 4/23 Minor League updates

Kozlowski hasn't looked good this year. He's been struggling in his move to the bullpen.

Dayton
Official scorer changed the "hit" to an Error on Szymanski. Carlos Fisher gets them 1-2-3 in the 4th. Dragons still up 1-0.

Sarasota
Sam Lecure gives up another run in the 4th. Through 4 he has given up 6 hits, 2 walks and 4 runs to go with 5 strikeouts. Reds trail 4-2.

Louisville
Still 9-0 Indianapolis over the Bats in the top of the 7th inning.

Nothing better than seeing a position player pitch. Buchanon pitched the ninth for Louisville today. Gave up a solo HR, but managed to stike out some poor soul too.

Ohhhh how that brings back the memories of Derek Bell aka. Operation Shutdown. I could never forget seeing that man on the mound with his sunglasses. How could I almost forget Mark Grace.

Re: 4/23 Minor League updates

Got back from Dayton - Fisher was bringing it - but so was the Kane County pitcher... it was definitely a pitcher's duel. The game winner was a Mosby HR (he has to be the biggest player I have ever seen in a Dragons uni) in the 7th. Good win for Dayton - Vanderwood, the Dragons announcer, said that Kane County was the best hitting team in the MWL. I think there was only 9 hits between both of the teams.

BTW, Birdzerk was the entertainment for the day.

Will be there on Wednesday to see Wilson pitch - then on Friday.
