rotation switch

Didnt see this posted yet, according to Marc Arroyo will switch places with Williams in the rotation to face Mulder tomorrow. Williams will face Ponson on Tuesday.

Re: rotation switch

Good, we now have a chance against Mulder... And maybe, just maybe the reds will beat up on Ponson enough that Mr. Coache's Pitch softball will avoid the loss (I'd have to be taking crazy pills to think DW can get the win, but he could avoid the loss if we kill Izzy)

This is being greedy! Instead of looking at a split, we could lose both games.

Remember when the Reds were going to trade Ponson for Kearns?

Re: rotation switch

May as well keep Arroyo (and Harang) pitching every 5 days. Use the off day to get them more starts. While it looks like they are simply swithing to get a certain matchup, that's not the case. Moving Arroyo up keeps him on his schedule and moves him up a day, such that eventually we will squeeze an extra start out of him.

Ladies and Gentlemen of Redszone,

I'm a relative newcomer to your board. I don't understand your talk of OPS, IsoPs, and SecAs. Are these some sort of code words from a holy book known only to your resident expert statisticians? I don't know.

And your mention of things like WHIPs frightens and confuses me.

But one thing I do know: Anything the postpones a Dave Williams start is worth more than a million bottles of this fabulous pink concoction you call "Pepto-Bismol" to Reds fans everywhere.

Thank you.

It's only a two game series.

Claussen vs Francis Wed in Coors. Harang vs Fogg Thursday, Reds should crush Fogg.

Re: rotation switch

Ramirez/Williams spots have to be separated because you don't want the bullpen to have to go extended innings two days in a row, which is extremely likely as it stands now.

Ahhh...thanks...that teaches me for not looking at the schedule first.

BTW...I'm glad that we miss Ramirez in that series. The Cardinals would lose that game for sure. I like the matchups on Monday and Tuesday though.

Re: rotation switch

I'm really upset about the move because I had already bought tickets to Tuesday's game, hoping that I would be watching Arroyo bring his magic. But no, I have to hate myself watching Williams.:thumbdown

I'm just glad the Reds are not throwing Williams out there in a tone-setting game against the Cards.

Probably preventative measure in case Ramirez blew up today and they had to go to the bullpen for 4-5 innings. They wouldn't want to throw Williams out immediately after that, given his season thus far. Arroyo would have a better chance to give the pen some rest, were they all thrown today.

This at least gives Matt Belisle a day off before it's his turn in the "rotation"

I think you can trade them... unless you can't make it Monday night, of course.

Give the Reds ticket office a call to find out for sure.
