Line O' the Day

Phillies prospect Cole Hamels makes his AAA debut and puts this line on 'em.

PHI AAA Hamels, Cole .............. 7.0 3 0 0 0 14 0.00 - W (1-0); stunning AAA debut

He's got a real chance at being somebody.

Yeah, scary thing is, the previous two years he has like 50 innings on his arm. Hamels is my favorite prospect in baseball. If he can stay healthy, he is going to be very scary to face.

Re: Line O' the Day

Hamels was a first round draft choice out of high school (15-20 slot, I think) who had had a some kind of arm injury already -- maybe a break, I can't remember. High risk, and, apparently, high reward for the Phils.

Re: Line O' the Day

He broke his hand last year in a bar fight. Albeit he had a very good reason to fight the guy, as the story goes the guy he fought hit a woman and Cole was not going to let it happen again and took the guy on. Cole does however have an injury plagued back for which has shelfed him several times in his young career already.
