Royals Designated pitcher Luke Hudson for assignment

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/transactions
Royals Designated pitcher Luke Hudson for assignment; purchased the contract of pitcher Steve Andrade from Omaha of the Pacific Coast League (AAA).

This is a interesting move. I know we let him go once. Should we try to get him back for the bullpen or to spot start?

If the Royals don't want him... The Reds don't need him...

No Thanks.

Re: Royals Designated pitcher Luke Hudson for assignment

Being cut by the Royals does not bode well for his career. He's getting to the point where he needs to contemplate "his life's work". We sure don't need him and no major league team does until he can find home plate and stay healthy. At his age this doesn't look too likely.

Wow! You know it's time to call it quits when you're getting dropped by the Royals! Take some time to check out that roster. It's hilarious how unbelievably bad they are.

We can always bring him back as a pinch runner. He did it several times last year

http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/B06250CLE2005.htm

In the third inning of this game, I called my brother and woke him up from sleeping so that I could drunkenly scream into the phone that I just wanted to call him to let him know that Luke Hudson sucks.

He was tossing softballs to the Tribe hitters and hanging them right out over the plate about thigh-high.

Brings back memories of a pitcher(?) named Jeff Austin... except in reverse.

Austin... KC, then Cincy. Then done.
Hudson... Cincy, then KC. Then????

Not interested.

Sudden thought -- is being dumped by the Royals really indisputable evidence that a guy can't be a major-league player? After all, if they're generally miserable judges of which ballplayers to obtain or keep, why would we assume they're always right about who to cut?

Hey, they did sign Reggie Sanders. They must have thought that's how they are getting to the World Series......
