Scott Hatteberg is up, probably expecting to see a lot of PT with Aurillia out with a strained groin (our deepest sympathies to Mrs. Aurillia). Hatteberg does what he does best: stands there with a disinterested look on his face taking pitches. Hatty draws the Luke Hudson 4 Pitch and trots on down to first. 2 on, 0 out.

Um, wow those stands are empty. They had weather issues last night, but it's obviously not a fluke. Looks like Montreal out there on TV. Maybe it's not THAT empty, but dang!

Austin Kearns into the batters box. He's been looking uncomfortable in Colorado, but that's probably because Ray King has been glaring at him from out in the bullpen. Austin keeps touching his shoulder like he's having some kind of 'nam flashback. Kearns works the count full -- this is the Reds offense I like to see: take more pitches -- Kearns with the RBI base hit to left field, the Reds lead 1-0. Hattey to 3rd. 1-0
