Anyone see Aaron Rowand's catch last night?

Unbelievable play! Unfortunately he broke his nose on the play. He's having surgery today.

Yeah, he requested padding out there a while ago. They have it already, just haven't put it in yet....whoops.

Here's the replay if you missed it.

I believe that the Phillies need to go over to the South Philadelphia Home Depot and buy some padding.

What was that, Chicken wire in Centerfield?

Re: Anyone see Aaron Rowand's catch last night?

They added extra padding in Chicago last year because of his habit of taking on walls at full speed. I guess he wouldn't want to play in Wrigley.

Apparently Rowand also broke his eye socket.

I'm not sure I even knew this was possible. Ow. Ow. Ow.

Hey, maybe he could be the first baseball player to use Bill Laimbeer "Phantom of the Opera" mask....

Didn't that happen to Sean Casey early in his Reds career? Think it was on a throw from Damian Jackson during a pre-game drill or something...

Yep, it happened in pre-game warmups. I think it was before he ever played his first game as a Red.

Oddly enough, the Phillies apparently ordered padding and received it last Tuesday. They were planning on installing it this weekend while the team was away.

Re: Anyone see Aaron Rowand's catch last night?

A bunch of buddies and I were playing baseball, and one of them got hit in the face with a ball and the same thing happened. Broken nose and broken eye socket, they say it might be perminent damage (formy buddy, not Rowand)
