I don't read Neyer much anymore, as I don't have ESPN insider. But I think that was very well written and well reasoned.

That was rally interesting. I hadn't gotten to read any Neyer in a while. Thanks for posting that.

Thanks for posting the article. I'm considering getting Neyer's book. I think of the Robinson for Pappas, et al, trade everytime someone advocates trading Adam Dunn for a pitcher.

Re: Neyer on Robinson for Pappas, Baldshun, Simpson
The problem I have with stuff like this is that it assumes everything stays the same if the Reds would not have traded Robinson. Who knows what trades might have taken place that didn't because Robinson was playing for the Orioles instead of the Reds. Would Tony Perez had been on the team or would they have had to trade him to make room for Robinson? Who knows but trading him hurt the Reds a lot more than what he seemed to suggest. The one interesting thing to me is the talk about who the Reds got. I didn't realize that the talent coming to the Reds was supposed to have been so good.

Since this was also Neyer, I decided to add it here.
