Zambrano No-No in Progress

Carlos Zambrano, into the sixth with a no hit bid. The Braves scored in the first without benefit of a hit, Chicago currently ahead 2-1.

Re: Zambrano No-No in Progress

Yeah, I was about to start a thread on this to jinx him.

Zambrano's got the A.J. Burnett no-no going.

5 BB's so far from Zambrano.

Re: Zambrano No-No in Progress

He walked 4 in the 1st which led to the run. The Braves announcers certainly have done their part, they've been talking about nothing but for the entire half inning.

Re: Zambrano No-No in Progress

He has thrown over 100 pitches and only in the sixth, but I'm sure Dusty won't pay any attention to such a trivial matter

Re: Zambrano No-No in Progress

I'm guessing since Francoeur walked earlier in the game, he won't do it again.

No way he walks TWICE in the same game.

Re: Zambrano No-No in Progress

Zambrano threw a 140+ pitch CG against the Phillies last year to put a stop to a losing streak that was primarily the result of a really weak bullpen.

I wouldn't put that past Baker today.

Re: Zambrano No-No in Progress

Freddie Bynum goes deep against Hudson. 4-1 Cubs now.

That should take away any thought Dusty had of pinch hitting for Zambrano until the next time through the order. Zambrano should be clear sailing for at least 2 more IP.

Re: Zambrano No-No in Progress

Zambrano's had great stuff today, but he's had a rough time handling it.

Ramirez saves it. Wow.
