Who knows anything on this guy in Louisville

I was just checking on Louisville roster and saw a pitcher named Brad Salmon. The guy is 4-0 with an era of something like 2.80 I believe. Does anybody know much about him, and if he might get a call up soon.

Re: Who knows anything on this guy in Louisville

Here is a write up on Salmon from a few years ago from another site. Not much out their on him but his name has been floated around on this site often considering our current bullpen woes.

RH Brad Salmon (1-0, 0.54 ERA; 5 G, 1 GS, 16.2 IP, 12 H, 3 BB, 16 K): Demoted to eat a few innings, the 24-year-old Salmon did so with aplomb. Between this stint and an ERA in the low 4s in the Southern League, Salmon appears to have earned his way out of A ball for good after parts of five seasons in it. He’s a big guy (6′4″, 215) who throws strikes, so consider him a sleeper. He should be back in the Lookouts’ bullpen for his age-25 season.

This was written last year or two years ago

Who uses the word aplomb? Sounds like a word in my 7th grade Vocabulary book.

Indeed: sang-froid and equanimity are far more savory choices.

Yet Narron seems to love to trot him out to the mound dispite a 9+ ERA and two other disastrous stints with the big team. And we all know how his 3rd bite at the apple started the other night. In a word: dismal.

I did. I only have a seventh-grade education. Or at least that's where I stopped paying attention.

Salmon was also a non-drafted free-agent signee, so his roots are even more modest than Todd Coffey's. As a result, the strongest vote of confidence he's ever gotten from the organization is when he was actually given a contract for '06 instead of going to six-year free agency.
