44, this was in Marc's blog today on EE:

UPDATE: Also today, the Reds released Jake Robbins to make room for Mike Burns on Louisville's roster. Speaking of the Bats, Encarnacion is supposed to play six innings for them tonight.

Re: 6/27 Minor League Updates (Edwin playing, Homer pitching)

Heading into the 6th inning Bailey will face the top of the order.
CF Moss steps up first. Up and in for ball 1. Swing and a foul straight back to even the count up at 1-1. Aaron Herr lets one go right through his legs for a 2 base error.
2B Crabbe is up second with a man on second. Sac bunt. 1 out, runner to third base.
LF Anderson comes up third with a man on third and one out. Foul ball to the left side for strike 1. Just misses the outside corner for ball 1. Ground ball to third. Aaron Herr tags the runner and throws out Anderson at first! double play. End of the inning!

Homer Bailey is done for the night. What a great start for Bailey in AA!

Re: 6/27 Minor League Updates (Edwin playing, Homer pitching)

As far as the trainer looking at Homer tonight, they were looking at his finger like he had a blister. He really got on a roll afer that happened. And you guys are correct about Huntsville not being able to hit, but my gosh Homer can throw that ball!

Re: 6/27 Minor League Updates (Edwin playing, Homer pitching)

3 nono's for Bailey this year, seasonal stats:

82.2I 54h 26ER 35R 24W 92K 2.84ERA. 2 starts in AA.

I would say Homer's command has improved a good deal since May, almost the opposite of last year a big big June. Most impressive stat is the H/9.

Looks like Homer is showing signs of adjusting and growing. The Reds aren't letting him throw over 100 pitches yet, which is hopefully a good sign they aren't even thinking of Bailey/Majors this year. Still the meat of the Southern League to go through.

Re: 6/27 Minor League Updates (Edwin playing, Homer pitching)

David Shafer blows the no hitter and shutout by giving up the games only hit for Huntsville, a HR with 1 out in the ninth.
