David Ross on the 15-day disabled list

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/transactions
Cincinnati Reds Placed catcher David Ross on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 8, with a lower abdominal strain; recalled pitcher Elizardo Ramirez from Dayton of the Midwest League (A).

This is a smart move. This gets the roster spot for Rameriz and gives Ross a chance to heal and do a rehab assignment. This also gives Larue a chance to improve his trade value.

i agrees smart move by wayne and jerry(mostly wayne prolly) we needed a roster spot and ross can't do much of anything but since we back dated it he won't be out quite as long

I hope it's nothing more serious than what we are hearing.

Re: David Ross on the 15-day disabled list

An LaRue's finally hitting well.

The Sporting News put out an article the last couple of days on young quality catchers,...that they are the second hardest commodity to come by only to young quality starting pitchers.

Not saying LaRue fits any of that, but the article is good and shows where the Reds could have a chance of unloading LaRue.
