Is it Ray Ray time?

KING SITS, WAITS: The Reds have had interest in Ray King, and recently placed left-hander Kent Mercker on the disabled list. The Rockies didn't pursue a deal for Reds catcher Jason LaRue because they don't want to block prospect Chris Iannetta's path. A straight-up exchange for Boston's Rudy Seanez remains a possibility. Talks regarding Julian Tavarez cooled dramatically over the weekend because of the Rockies' concerns regarding the money left on his contract.

Re: Is it Ray Ray time?

I was thinking from the thread title that this was a plea for Rey Rey to come up from Louisville. I think I like this idea less.

Olmedo's been slumping. He's down below .300 and made two errors last night. But I'd still not mind if he were the replacement for an Aurilia trade or Castro cashiering.

Re: Is it Ray Ray time?

As aresult, Shealy could be included in the Ray King, Julian Tavarez/Rudy Seanez swap. From the Pirates, they seek Matt Capps and such a deal will not happen....This rumor was last updated on 05:01 PM - Jul 24, 06. The source of this rumor was Denver Post.

What if LaRue, Belisle (Who should be off the DL within the next couple days), and PTBN were sent to Colorado for Shealy and King?

The Rox are asking for Hayden Penn in exchange for Shealy. Don't think they're gonna settle for Belisle.

They asked but were supposedly rejected.

The Orioles are said to be interested in Ryan Shealy, but reportedly turned down a Shealy-for-Hayden Penn deal.
Given the number of teams in the hunt for Shealy, that seems fairly reasonable. Expect him to be dealt within the week.

The Rockies should be looking to deal Helton and eating some of his salary.

King vs. Left: .244
King vs. Right: .377

Shackelford vs. Left: .143
Shackelford vs. Right: .450

Might as well just use Shackelford.

I'll like the Reds to get that Rockies pitcher who threw the shutout last night.

Re: Is it Ray Ray time?

One name in the Rockies system that I WANT:

SP Ubaldo Jimenez

LaRue and cash to the Rockies for Jimenez and I'm dancing a jig.

I don't like either idea, really.

But they will be able to keep Shealy. Helton is a shell of his former self.
