Cubs considering offers on Maddux
Buster Olney is reporting that the Chicago Cubs are taking offers on the Hall of Fame starting pitcher Greg Maddux. I haven't heard what the Cubs are expecting in return as far as prospects, but if Wayne could somehow swing this deal the Reds could make a strong push for the pennant. Unfortunately, the Reds don't have a talent rich farm system excluding the likes of Bailey and Bruce. I'm still expecting another deal from Wayne before the deadline and we probably won't hear any rumors until its already done. He seems to keep a pretty tight lid on his deals. Anyway, this should be an interesting deal to follow to the 31st.

Re: Cubs considering offers on Maddux
Maddux has been hit hard quite a bit since his great start. I don't really like him over here unless they can keep him around to teach the other guys a few things. Then again, he would be an upgrade at the back of the rotation, but that's pretty much a given after Joe Mays was holding down the #5 spot.
