i dunno but heres another rumor
According to a source close to the Marlins, a deal is very near to completion that would send Dontrelle Willis and a player to be named to Cincinnati in exchange for Edwin Encarnacion, Jason LaRue, and two prospects. The sticking point seems to be who these prospects will be, the Marlins seem to be asking for Jay Bruce, while the Reds have offered Joey Votto
i hope this is not true, i think were giving way too much! |

I would definitely give EE, LaRue, and a Wood or Cueto for Willis... But no way do I give EE, LaRue, Wood/Cueto, and Bruce/Votto... NO WAY!

Well, there's a difference between Trade Rumors and stabs in the dark.
This is a stab in the dark. No source, no link, no reason to think there's any truth to it. Legitimate rumors make for fun discussions, but stuff like this just frustrates people like myself that are trying to see if anything is going to happen before the deadline. My take.

If I'm the Marlins FO I've got to believe there's still a chance to win the wild card.The way theyv'e been playing the last 2 months you can't disregard the chance of them making a run. So I'd say they would be crazy to trade Willis righ now.

There are two ways to look at Willis:
1) They should hold on to him, no need to sell low. He will recover and be a #1 starter. 2) They should trade him for a king's ransom before he is revealed to be a glorified #3 starter. |
