i would say all the hype about big names that could be traded, was a bummer.. cant belive Bowden didnt trade Soriano!!..

Seems every year the MLB deadline is a big bag of wind other than a flurry of second-tier deals and the Yanks taking on a couple of salary dumps. Most teams are smart enough to hang onto their A/A+ upper minor prospects -- especially pitching. Essentially, no one trades young, proven, low service time MLB pitching at the deadline. One could argue Bill Bray was the best young MLB ready arm actually moved this month.
Carlos Lee/Lugo were really the only two big position names moved and the biggest arm moved in the headlines was probably the aging Maddux (yawn). |
