Root for the Cubs tonight!!!
Arizona starts a series with Chicago tonight. C'mon Cubbies!
After all the dealing, I like our chances even better. When you look at the main competition - Cardinals and Diamondbacks - I like our starting pitching better. Neither Stl or Ari improved themselves. Mulder is having an off year. Suppan and Marquis are hovering around 5.0 era and Weaver is not the answer for their 5th man. Beyond Webb, Arizona does not have a 2 or 3. All of the other 4 are hovering around 5.0 era or slightly under (Batista's at 4.7) Offense is a wash between the 3 teams. Similar number of runs scored. C'mon Junior! Get hot! The clincher - Our bullpen is clearly stronger than Arizona and at least even with the Cardinals in terms of depth. Altough I don't see a strong LH in the Cardinals pen. Looking forward to head to head competition! |

Rooting for the Cubs makes me sick to my stomach. I feel like I'm shaking hands with the devil. But... if it helps us out, so be it. Hopefully the roles won't be reversed this year, and the Cubs won't be our spoiler as we have been in the past to them.
