Ryan Franklin deal has been completed...

I did not see this posted anywhere. If it has been feel free to delete/combine the threads:

This is from rotoworld:

Phillies acquired RHP Zac Stott from the Reds as the player to be named to complete the Ryan Franklin deal.
Stott, 23, had a 2.53 ERA and a 22/10 K/BB ratio in 32 innings of relief for Single-A Sarasota. He's probably not a future major leaguer.

How can you trade the future Trevor Hoffman for this?

It is revenge for Wayne Granger for Tom Hall deal.

Re: Ryan Franklin deal has been completed...

This morning's Enquirer said that this guy was selected by the Reds in the 27th rd of this year's draft. I thought you could not trade recently drafted guys for a whole year. Am I mistaken? I thought this year's draftees could not be traded until June of 2007.

That's wrong. Stott has been in the organization for a couple of years.

Stott was doing fairly well at Sarasota, but I agree that he wasn't even the prospect Abe Woody or Carlos Guevara is. And both of those guys are #25-30 types in a Baseball America-style list.

OK, that makes sense. I never take to the bank what is written in the Enquirer anymore
