Re: Stop talking about the damn Wild Card!

There's a long way to go and several things have to fall into place. I know that some luck has to go our way. So before anybody reads the next para and rolls their eyes because I dared to be optimistic, I fully understand that there are some real challenges to face.

That being said, I don't think it's impossible to go for the entire enchalada here. It's going to take AH and BA staying solid. EZ and Milton giving us a chance and Loshe not getting blown out. The offence that was capable of producing 8 runs tonight (despite no AK or Lopez) has to avoid mass-slumps and keep grinding out runs.

Narron has to run his bullpen like he did tonight. I don't mean ride them hard, but rather not be afraid to use them. He wisely pulled AH after the 6th instead of sticking with his starter as he is want to do. That bullpen has to produce and not have the disaster innings (and the defense plays a huge role in this obviously).

Hopefully the last two games have given them a boost to their confidence and taken the wind out of the Cards sails. IF we can beat them tomorow, we may really put a big chink in their "confidence armor".

They could have easily rolled over and died after Mondays shalacking. They didn't and they fought hard tonight.

I think they can win it.

I don't care how we do it. The winner of the Wild Card has faired pretty well in recent years. Central division champs does have a nice ring to it! If we keep winning games, it will take care of itself.

Re: Stop talking about the damn Wild Card!

I Believe I Can Fly

I used to think that I could not go on
and life was nothing but an awful song
But now I know the meaning of true Love
I'm leaning on the Everlasting Arms.
If I can see it
then I can do it
If I just believe it
there's nothing to it

I believe I can fly

I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it every night and day
Spread my wings and fly away
I believe I can soar

I see me runnin' through that open door
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly

See, I was on the verge of breaking down
Sometimes silence can seem so loud
There are miracles in life I must achieve
But first I know it starts inside of me
Oh, if I can see it (whoo!)
then I can be it
If I just believe it
there's nothin' to it

I believe I can fly
I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it every night and day
Spread my wings and fly away
I believe I can soar
I see me runnin' through that open door
I believe I can fly
I believe I can fly....whoo!
Oh, I believe I can fly

Hey, 'cuz I believe in You
Ohhhhhh
If I can see it
then I can do it
If I just believe it
there's nothin' to it.

I believe I can fly....whoo!
I believe I can touch the sky
I think about it every night and day
Spread my wings and fly away

I believe I can soar
See me runnin' through that open door
I believe I can fly (I can fly!)
I believe I can fly (I can fly!)
I believe I can fly
If I just spread my wings (I can fly!)
I can fly (I can fly!)
I can fly (I can fly!)
I can fly (I can fly!)
Hey, if I just spread my wings
I can fly .....(I can fly!) whoo!!
(I can fly!)
fly............

of HAPPINESS!!!!

Speaking of George, the last line of his Wikipedia cracks me up.

Weird. Someone must have just edited it because what was there is now gone.
