I think he's seeing the light:
"Encarnacion continues to swing the bat very well," manager Jerry Narron said. "It looks like he takes good at-bats every time. He is a young player that keeps showing signs of improvement, of making adjustments and getting better pitches." I don't know if anyone expected this kinda production out of EdE: .302/.389/.550/.939

Maybe this was Narron's stradegy all along. Have Edwin get real hungry to play and by doing so makes Edwin more focused in proving he can play when given the opportunity. No, that would give Narron too much credit.
