Re: Draft Notes

Is it a little scary that everyone seems to be raking at Billings except for our #1 draft pick?

Re: Draft Notes

How about that everyone seems to be at Billings? It would be nice to see more than that in A (or higher) ball

Re: Draft Notes

He ignored 5th-rounder Josh Ravin, who got promoted to Billings already after pitching well in the GCL. As a high school pick, that's fairly impressive.

Re: Draft Notes

Others:

29th-rounder 3B Jason Louwsma is hitting over .300 and playing every day for the Mustangs.

26th-rounder Anthony Gressick has taken every turn in the Billings rotation, although he's faded after a very strong start.

24th-rounder Anthony Esquer, a catcher, has hit over .300 in Billings (although his defense has been shaky).

16th-rounder Jamie Arneson, a LHP, has done pretty well in all sorts of roles in Billings.

Rick Burleson really runs a meritocracy out there in Montana. You do well, you play. So if a guy's playing every day, that's a sign that he's... well, you get it. Astonishingly simple concept, eh?
