Re: David Wells anyone???

David Wells comes across like he has a massive ego.

Is that bad in a pitcher though? I dunno.

Re: David Wells anyone???

Not sure about his ego, but I DO know that he EATS a lot of Egos I can't believe that someone in that kind of shape can be considered a "professional athlete." That term is thrown around rather loosely nowadays in my opinion.

he's not an athelete, he's a baseball player.

As your 5th starter: What is the most viable option?

Michalak
Franklin
Wells

Which one do you want?

Re: David Wells anyone???

I think Wells would be invaluable as long as the price is fair. Any time you can add a experienced veteran with plenty of playoff experience to a less than stellar pitching staff, I would say its a no brainer.

Sure. They borrowed him once for the stretch run...why not again?

Re: David Wells anyone???

David Wells would be a great 6 week rental, a hired gun.

The only problem is the Red Sox would want too much back in return in order to "even up" the Arroyo-WMP deal. The national perception, at least, is that Epstein got hosed on that deal.

David Wells - no

1. As your 5th starter: What is the most viable option?

Franklin as a Red 12.1 IP, 13 hits, 5 runs,

Schoeneweis has 3 good outing as a Red

IMO either is better than Wells or Michalak

2. Wells 40.0 IP, 56 hits, 9 HR, 5.40 era, 1.58 whip

why do so many posters here want Wells?

if he posted these #s as a Red we would be asking: why hasn't he been DFAed?
