At least the Cubs are trying to help...

St. Louis win the Central. This is a comedy of errors. Jones runs right past one in RF, SS makes a good play to stop the ball from going to the OF with the bases loaded and puts the ball in his pocket. Barrett forgets he's a catcher for a second and lets a ball go right past him for another run to score. And I thought the Reds defense was looking bad, yeesh

Was it the SS? I thought it was the 2B. Maybe I was wrong.

The only good thing about this game is that Joe Morgan ISN'T calling the game with Jon Miller.

Weaver hasn't looked good at all, and the Cubs defense is just sickening to watch.

All they are doing is helping the Cards...big time.

This is why they are the Scrubbies

The Cubs are absolutely horrible. No pitching outside Zambrano and nobody in that lineup scares me.

Krivsky is going to be on the game broadcast after the commercial.

I'd love to have Aramis Ramirez

Yeah, and healthy Derek Lee wouldn't hurt, I suppose. I'd take Murton off the bench, and heck, Barrett to compliment Ross.

The Cubs have talent, but injuries, and a complete lack of compentancy from their manager, GM, and ownership trump that.

Wouldn't you love to have Zambrano in the Reds Rotation

Definitely. Could you imagine Zambrano, Harang, and Arroyo as the top 3 in the rotation? That's a playoff rotation right there.

Re: At least the Cubs are trying to help...

Also, if we're counting on the Cubs to help us out, we're in big trouble. They have no offense and no pitching outside of Zambrano.

CUBS = Completely Useless by September

I hate the Cubs. They're going to lose in the bottom of the ninth to the Cards two days in a row.

Am I seeing things or is Preston Wilson batting leadoff for the Cards? I know they've struggled to find someone without Eckstein but surely they have someone better than him for that spot.

Re: At least the Cubs are trying to help...

Surely Gary Bennett will not be the hero again in this series. He's Jason Larue bad.

As I typed this he hit a grand slam. Wow, the Cubs are really, really bad and that doesn't begin to describe it.
