Reds trade for Sun-Woo Kim, DFA Gosling

Per team press notes. The Rockies are sending along some cash as well, don't know how much. Colorado receives the always exciting "future considerations".

Fun fact of the day, the Reds now have 34 active players, tied with the Mets for most in the Majors.

Re: Reds trade for Sun-Woo Kim, DFA Gosling

I would tell WK to give it a rest but when Michalak and Johnson are on the menu ... of course he won't impact the outcome of this season.

Look at Sunny's stats, he has pitched well in PCL when away from the the altitude of Colorado Springs.

ERA at home 7.17 in 64IP
ERA on the road 2.82 in 60IP with 4 HR

He also sports a G/F ratio of 2.0

I think this is the first Asian-American to play for the Reds in this century. I think.

Re: Reds trade for Sun-Woo Kim, DFA Gosling

I'm going to try really hard to be excited that Sun-Woo Kim is now a Cincinnati Red.

One thing we've all noticed- WK does not bring guys in "just in case." They usually get into the games right away.

I'm going to the game tonight; so I guess Sunny will be pitching in the 8th in the middle of a tight game. Hope to see some of those ground balls he's been throwing in the PCL...

Is he supposed to start or pitch in relief?

7 Innings, 17 hits, 15 ER, 8 BB, 4 K

at this point does it really matter? The Reds do need a starter on Wednesday and I for one had seen enough of Michalak after his outing in Philly.

Kim's last outing was August 31st.

only for post-season eligibility. IF the Reds were to make the playoffs, Kim would not be eligible.
