Who says I don't welcome change?
Peep this, Poindexters:
--- UNCERTAIN FUTURE: Though the Dragons remained in playoff contention most of the second half, first-year manager Billy Gardner Jr.'s job could be in jeopardy, according to the Dayton Daily News. Gardner was hired by former Reds farm director Tim Naehring, and Naehring's successor, Johnny Almaraz, is making changes. He fired Dragons pitching coach Larry Pierson in July, and already has told Gulf Coast League manager Luis Aguayo and pitching coach Jaime Garcia they won't be back. --- I've decided to clone Mack Jenkins and make him pitching coach for every minor-league club. Then, just to work with our lefthanders, I've hired stalwart ex-Red Bill Scherrer. A sincere thanks to that really smart guy from one of the other threads that suggested Scherrer might be able to help Phil Dumatrait subtract a few ticks from his fastball. Not really. That guy's a moron. I swear. |
