Re: Sheffield to Detroit, Biggio back to Astros
Resiging Biggio may not work out that well competitively for the Astros, as I'm not sure how much he has left, but I was glad to see him resign. He should get his 3000th hit next season. Biggio has probably never received his due, but that 3000th hit should wrap up a HOF career for him.

Barry helped force himself out the door with his mouth and his attitude.

I'm not saying it was politic of him, or that he shouldn't have been fired for it, but I certainly don't hold it against Barry Larkin for speaking truth to power. My guess is that Cincy owners hold truth at a low premium.

Re: Sheffield to Detroit, Biggio back to Astros
The Sheffield trade fascinates me.
Brian Cashman got prospects and moved Gary Sheffield's fat contract along with his lousy attitude. If the Reds can't move Ken Griffey Jr. now, they've got no one to blame but themselves.

Re: Sheffield to Detroit, Biggio back to Astros
I think Griffey would likely accept a trade to ANY contending team. Whereas in the past, he'd limit his trade spots, now I think he'd go just about anywhere to get a ring.

Re: Sheffield to Detroit, Biggio back to Astros
Who would want him and pick up the majority of his contract? When we all saw Curt Schilling pitching in the World Series with blood seeping through his sock, that dislocated toe thing and missing the last month of the season is sort of laughable.
