deepdiscountdvd.com is a great site. I've also used half.com

I also tend to frequent second hand stores like CD Connection, 2nd Time Around, stuff like that...you never know what you'll find in those stores.

Honestly, I've found great deal at local rental stores. It's those series sets (i.e. Sopranos) that you have to hunt online.

this is how i've put together close to half of my near 500 dvd collection. i won't buy a dvd if its scratched or if the cover is messed up inside of the case. most time i'll put the cover and dvd into a new case and it looks like brand new.

I usually get stuff at FYE. I'm not really a DVD kind of person, the ones I brought to school with me total around 20. My girlfriend has worked at FYE for a long while so I get the employee discount on everything there which helps (I think their prices are kind of high). Unfortunately she has managed to get a "real" job so my discount will be gone soon.
