Schoeneweis to Mets? 10.8 Million?!?!?

Read on rotoworld.com that he's near a 3 year deal with them for 10.8 mil.

I liked the guy during his short stint with us, but 10.8 mil for Scott Schoeneweis?? 14 1/3 good innings in Cincy is worth 10.8 million from the Mets. I was blessed with many gifts, but I am beginning to wish The Lord made me left-handed.

What the heck does Scott Boras tell these GM's?

Well, now they won't have to worry about trying to fit his name on the back of the new jerseys with the drop shadow lettering.

I'll ask again, is there now a market for Milton?

How much could Rob Murphy have made if he played today?

I'm surprised he didn't get closer to 12 M over 3.

I had a number of 4 M per for Schoeneweis. Part of me almost wanted the Reds to pony up that number.

Now I'm eager to see what kind of compensation we get.

Sheesh. Hate to say it makes Mike Stanton look like a bargain, but...

All Krivsky would have to do is tell Minaya that ALL of Milton problems could be solved by pitching in Shea and that his salary is reasonable for the level of performance. It seems pretty simple to me.

If so we should accept any offer that doesn't involve us picking up salary.

I think this does mean that Milton has some trade value...also it does make the Stanton signing look like a good one.

I don't think Special K is PERFECT but I don't think he looks at the market in "current time"...I think he sees where the market is going, understands where the team is and makes his choices based on that finding the highest value for the "future market"...I don't know that I am saying that well enough but regardless, that is just MHO.

I understand your logic and there is some merit to it, but IMO future market is not really applicable to a 40 year old.

coming off of arm surgery I would still say no. There may be a market after he shows he is healthy.

Dan O was a visionary. The contract he gave Milton was obscene for its day but little did we know he was already thinking ahead to 2007 when he did it.

If he has anything approaching a competent spring, they should try as hard as they can to find out...
