Re: Should the Reds go after Joel Piniero?
The Reds could have had Piniero for nothing but cash this past winter. Now, it would probably take cash + talent to get him.

But they shouldn't have to go after Pineiro anyway because WAYNE HAS SPENT ENOUGH TIME SIGNING RELIEVERS ALREADY!!! Seriously Wayne, when is it enough? Are you really content with Lohse, Milton and whoever the #5 is? |

By the way, Dotel is apparently throwing pure gas this spring. 99 mph or so. The surgery and rehab very successful.
Yeah, he would have looked GREAT at the back of this bullpen... |

Re: Should the Reds go after Joel Piniero?
The Reds should have traded Sean Casey for Joel Pineiro back in the years between 2001 and 2005 when it seemed like an annual rumor that such a deal may occur.
Joel Pineiro would look pretty nice on our team now instead of having to give up Casey for Dave Williams, who know is no longer a member of the Reds (thankfully). |

Still, I'm baffled as to why Wayne was averse to risking cash on a guy with so much upside.

Long answer: hell no.

That about sums it up for me as well.

Meanwhile, I like the poll on there. Which former Sox pitcher would you most like to see back with the team? 31% Bronson Arroyo 39% Roger Clemens 8% Derek Lowe 13% Pedro Martinez 1% David Wells 9% None of them |
