Trade Help

I am trying to put together a package to offer for Joe Nathan. Right now I am thinking of offering Felipe Lopez, Francisco Cordero or Putz, and Jered Weaver.

I see Lopez as expendable because I have B.J. Upton. I am leaning toward offering Cordero insead of Putz because Cordero has a long track record of high WHIP and ERA for a closer. Then again Putz has had one good season. Weaver I think is expendable given my pitching and does not have a high K rate plus seems like he might be injury prone.

My closest competitor in the league has K-rod so I would like to upgrade my closer. Also I plan to add Luke Hochevar off of waivers to my roster in the next couple weeks so I would like to clear a roster spot and still get some return. I have included my roster and the other team's roster below. Please give me some suggestions on how to structure the trade offer. He already rejected an offer of Cordero and Igawa.

Re: Trade Help

Big rosters...are these all starters?

You are stacked in the hitting dept. He needs OF and power. Even though I love the guy for this year, getting Rios involved might do the trick. He really doesn't need Lopez.

Re: Trade Help

It is a keeper league - 28 man rosters that must be cut to 16 before next year's draft.

Offensive starting positions:
8 natural, MI, CI, 2 UTILs

Pitching starting positions:
5 SPs, 3 RPs

Rios is in one of my UTIL spots now. I would prefer not to lose him as he is my only reliable backup outfielder should Abreu get injured but I might have to consider it to upgrade at closer. Thanks.

Re: Trade Help

Try giving him two of your closers for his Nathan, as he may bite given his third guy is no longer closing. If that doesn't work, I like edabbs answer of seeing his interest in Rios, especially if he starts as fast as he did last year.
