Did you notice ... Harris

He is playing SS tonight for the Eggs and has a 3 run HR. I wonder when that Castro guy will get off the bench.?

When a LHP pitcher is going the Reds bench of RH hitters is made up of Castro, Moeller and Valentin. Sure hope the Reds don't need any hits off the bench.

Re: Did you notice ... Harris

I've never seen it anywhere else other then here.

On Harris, I didn't think he was ever going to be much of anything, but I'd sure like him on this team over Moeller and Castro.

Um, okay. First time I've heard that one. I'm not sure what makes "Eggs" easier to type than "Rays".

I've heard "Eggs" used. Think it has something to do with deviled eggs.

Re: Did you notice ... Harris

I lived in Tampa for a year and a half and never heard anyone refer to them as the "Eggs".

They are either referred to as "that team that I hope beats the Yankees tonight" or "that team that I hope beats the Red Sox tonight".

Ah - that might explain it, then.
I admit, I am rather unfamiliar with the name, as well.

Re: Did you notice ... Harris

I thought it was because one of their jerseys, with the "devil ray," the circular, body part of the devil ray looked sort of like an egg.

Devil Rays -> Deviled Eggs

It took me months to figure that out.

Re: Did you notice ... Harris

Never heard of "the Eggs".

I much prefer "The Lucifers", or perhaps "The Black Princes."

Even "The Beezelbubs" would be an improvement over "Eggs." This has ESPN smarminess written all over it...
