In-laws AND a 3 year old? I'd be happy to maintain my sanity, much less, actually watch the game.

They're playing like a dominant team, yet only one game up on second-place Lansing! What's up with the Midwest League this year?

Haha, I was thinking of Harang.

With a 3 year old, a 125 lb wife, and a MIL in tow a nice chilly NorthEastern wind cut my night real short. We stayed for 4 innings. In between Hot Dogs, Peanuts, Soda, Pretzels, and Beer I manged to see a few ABs.

Drew Stubbs - I saw 2 ABs last night. If I was forced to make a career prognostication on his 2 ABs last night (which I am not and I won't) I'd pass and not think twice about it. He looked dreadful in both, no plan at the plate, no feel for balls and strikes. Not what I had hoped to see out of the kid, depressing really. He DH'ed so I didn't get too see him out in the field.

[I am going to go out of my way here to state, again, that I am not saying the kid can't be something, I only saw 2 ABs. ]

Parker at 1B is putrid defensively. Is he the kid we drafted out of UC?

Valiaka (sp?) at SS looked decent enough. Nothing concrete, just a general feel.

The saving grace of the entire evening was that my 3 year old seemed to be taking in a good bit of the game, enjoyed cheering for the team, and asked a few questions about the game as it went along. I think I have a game-day buddy in the making.

Stubbs has to be doing something right as he went 2-4 tonight with a HR and is now hitting .375. Like you said, making a judgement on 2 at bats is not a good idea.

Parker is the kid out of UC.

Valaika is ridiculous right now.

I'll have a chance to see him a few more times this year (hopefully). I hope the kid does well, I just couldn't believe how awful he looked at the plate last evening. Nice to see him come back with a solid outing.
