Just come out and get some runs tomorrow for Milty.
Agreed.

As I was watching this game I didn't see a triple - I saw a fly to right center that I thought should have been caught by a major league right fielder.
Instead due to Griffey's slow legs the ball goes for a triple leading to 2 runs.

Anyone else feel that Griffey really belongs in LF ( or a DH ) or is it just me?

Re: Reds Vs Astros 5-2-07

So, we lost to Oswalt. We're used to that. Always sucks to lose but, certainly this was not unexpected.

What I liked about tonight was Kyle Lohse. He was beaten about the face, waist, breast, chest, neck and head in the first inning. In seasons past (think: Minnesota Twins inconsistency), the Kyle Lohse of tonight would have been touched up for 7 runs in 3+ innings.

This is not your non-HD TV's Kyle Lohse.

Kyle battled back tonight; kept his team in the game. He's still the guy that makes one wonder how he hasn't won a Cy Young in one AB and makes yet another wonder how his ERA is not +10.00 in another but, he is showing himself to be a quality #3 starter. That's a lot to be excited about, despite the loss.

Plus, you guys got some hot Jess Biel pics. You're welcome.

I agree. Lohse didn't have his good stuff, but he battled and kept the Reds in the game. In the past, he would have folded up.

I was very concerned about Brandon Phillips when the injury occurred. I thought it was much worse than it turned out to be. Thankfully, he appears to be all right. As for the contingency plan if he were actually to go down with an injury, I think that Ryan Freel would likely move to 2B on a regular basis, with Juan Castro providing late-inning defense as needed. Josh Hamilton would then be the regular CF. Either Mark Bellhorn or Jeff Keppinger would then be called up to to an extra INF off the bench. (Probably the switch-hitting Bellhorn, since he could provide a lefty bat.)

Without a good Brandon Phillips you can shuffle things around all you want and it'll add up to a losing season.
Yep. I thought he had a separated shoulder or shoulder tear, and the season was vaporizing before my eyes. Must have been lots of us asking the baseball gods to make him better in exchange for the ballgame, because I never thought he'd get up and shake it off.
