Through 4 in Louisville Joey V. has singled and walked in two trips. Bats lead
4-1. Mike Gosling on the mound. Herr and Moeller with bombs.

Syracuse pushes across one in the top of the 5th. Louisville gets a lead-off double but can't advance the runner. 4-2 Bats after 5. Votto with a pop fly to left now 1-2 with a walk. On to the 6th.

Syracuse gets a solo HR in the top of the 6th to close the gap to one run. Brad Salmon comes on and strikes out both batters he faces. I am curious as to why they would be bring him on with nobody on base in the 6th. He seems to be a closer-to-the-end-of-the game type arm.

**note*** Misael (?sp?) de Jesus is down from Dayton to be used only in an emergency situation. I guess the Bats are a little short on pitching after yesterday's 12-inning affair. This is not a permanent promotion according to Louisville announcers.

Chad Moeller goes deep for the second time today. He has 3 home runs this season for Louisville - all off of Josh Banks. Scratch Banks off your top prospect list. jk.

DeJesus gives up an unearned run with an error, walk and single. He then settles down and strikes 3 out in a row. Bats fail to score in the bottom of the 8th. Mcbeth in to close out the game in the 9th. Bats up 5-4.

Thigpen can't check his swing on a 'nasty' changeup and is rung up. 1 down.
Barker is thrown out on a rangy play up the middle by Anderson Machado. 2 down.
Somebody hits a check swing nubber to 3rd and is gunned down at first. Encarnacion made two errors on Sunday and is benched by Narron all the way from the West Coast. just kidding.

Mcbeth gets the save. Bats win 5-4.

EdE did well. He made sure no one ran out of bubble gum, sunflower seeds or gatorade. He also picked up any batting gloves, bats or helmets that were lying around so nobody tripped over them. And his cheering was long, loud and at the appropriate moments. In other words, he didn't play.
