Even Scully

remarked how insane it was to throw Olmaedo Sanez fastballs when "the entire league knows he is a fastball hitter." But Narron is way too scrappy to be bothered with reading the scouting report. He is though, diligent about bringing in his good old boys coffey and saarloss.

Re: Even Scully

How about giving Furcal and Pierre both a free base with 1st and 3rd, no outs.

Yeah, that is classic. This whole series has been Narron's career here in a nutshell.

Re: Even Scully

This team arrived in LA dead upon arrival...I don't get it, this trip is their biggest challenge of the season and they tanked... either theyre heartless or the really are just a very bad team...

The Dodgers completely out classed them....

Wow, Narron got on the mound?

Why isn't this in the game thread?

Re: Even Scully

This was probably discussed in another thread...

Did anyone hear Welsh talking (the other day) about the different factions in the clubhouse? He talked about how people are really worried about playing time and stuff. He said that this team needs something to make them pull together into a cohesive unit.

Wait a minute. I thought Jerrys claim to fame was his clubhouse management? He's supposed to be a players type of manager, a guy they are are willing to playhard for.

If he doesn't even have that going for him he is completely useless.

This is nothing against you sava, but a few threads have been moved lately to the game thread. But sometimes it is tough going back to a 50 page thread that has 30 different topics... This post mentions a single AB and how it was approached. Threads like this, IMHO, should be allowed to stand alone. 50 pages of funk is tough to get through, and frankly, after the game is over, I'm done with it. I tend to not even hit the game threads because they are cluttered with 10 different conversations on 6 different pages.

Agreed. The game threads aren't a good place for debate after the game is over. Too much noise and I usually stay away these days.

Re: Even Scully

From Narron:

“We just do everything we can to get them out there in a spot where they can be successful,” Reds manager Jerry Narron said. “I don’t think it’s a secret that we don’t have a lot of strikeout guys in our bullpen, so we need to make quality pitches.”

This is just an absolute lie by Mr. Narron.

If anything, he puts our guys in situations to fail, rather than succeed. That's largely exhibited by his interesting lineups, as well as in game management.

I have nothing against Jerry Narron as a person, seeing as he's shown he's a phenomenal human being as displayed per his handling of Josh Hamilton.

It's just that I can't stand Jerry Narron as a baseball guy and or a manager.
