no. i dont know if theyve had the 2nd pick either, but i know gruler was the 3rd overall pick in 2002.

The Reds haven't had the worst record in baseball during the draft era.
The Reds had the worst record in the National League, and second worst record in baseball in 1982. http://www.baseball-reference.com/leagues/NL_1982.shtml They used that #2 pick overall to get Kurt Stillwell, future hall of fame shortstop. You remember, the guy for whom the Reds tried moving Barry Larkin to 2B. They used to have a secondary phase to the draft back then (winter). The Reds had the #1 overall pick and took everyone's favorite radio personality, Tracy Jones! I believe the only other time the Reds have even come in last place, since the draft came into existence, was 1983. http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/CIN/ Here's a listing of Reds draft picks going to the majors. Check out the '96 draft. I don't think a trained monkey could have picked any worse than that.
