Someone needs to butter Justin Turner because he's on a roll.

Jay Bruce singles and is now 2-for-3 with a RBI double, single, and a walk.

Jay Bruce is beyond ridiculous. I really wish I could explain.... a 20 year old is leading the FSL in average and slugging percentage. Think about that for a second.

Yeah, it is pretty good. Though Maybin has done just as well outside power.

Watson has been a bit gopher prone. Gotta keep the ball down kid. Fisher only gave up 5 total in 150 innings last season.
Fisher is a sinkerballer, so that's not really a fair comparison.

Bruce has a higher OPS by .110 points. Get over it, Jay Bruce is better.

I call it something else. It begins with a "t" and ends with a "l".

Jay Bruce walks in his thidd plate appearance of the night. He's now 1-for-2 with a RBI double and walk. Jay's plate discipline is getting better and better.
Seems like he did the same thing last year. Do you think it has something to do with pitchers respecting him more after he beats them around a few times? Bruce looks like a naturally aggressive hitter, but with the the path he's taking right now, he may always carry a solid walk rate just because he's freaking Jay Bruce.

Uh, what part of the "power part" didn't you understand?

I just think Maybin is as good as hitter as Bruce. What is so hard to understand? My worry has been Jay is a more powerfull version of Franocuer, but I think he has put that to rest. The guy is a good young power hitter. But the "Bruce is God" posts around here have gotten rediculous. Lets wait untill Bruce at least dominates the upper minors if not the majors before we give him the Pujolian labels.

Actually, that wasn't me. That was that Steel fella. He made quite the arguement.

What's ridiculous is you continuing to down every Reds prospect. Anytime someone mentions a positive comment about a Reds prospect you return with some ridiculous comment about how he's too old, or it's just a fluke or whatnot. And each time you do that, someone returns with facts to prove you wrong and yet you make the same false comments over and over.

Where's that ignore button again?

Yeah, except Bruce has him by 34 points in batting average, and about 170 points in slugging percentage.... but yeah, Maybin is fairly close other than those two things. Maybin is a slap hitter right now. He had a week stretch that he had power. He hasnt had a HR in over a month (April 17th was his last HR) and he is slugging .397 in May with a whopping .064 Isolated slugging.

Maybin does walk at a higher rate than Jay does.... but Jay is closing that gap on him in May. really though I am not worried about a walk rate when the guy is hitting .350 and slugging .640 in the minors toughest pitching league. Those numbers are so far beyond what any of his peers have been able to do in the league in the past 5 seasons its mind boggling. Joe Mauer, .335 average is the highest for a 20 year old since 2002 in the FSL at age 20. Matt Kemp, .559 SLG is the highest SLG for a guy at age 20 in the FSL and just 1 guy has OPS'd over .900 since 2002 in the FSL at 20 and it was Matt Kemp who posted a .918 OPS. Jay is over 1.040 right now.
